摘要
石黑一雄虽因获得诺贝尔文学奖而成为"世界性"作家,但透过其《浮世画家》可以发现,石黑一雄的作品有着显著的日本特征,这可以从作品人物对传统"义理观"的坚守、对旧"伦理观"的坚持、对历史的选择性遗忘看出。透过这部作品,可以发现日本作家在面临以美国文化为代表的"西方"面前的纠结和两难。
Despite the fact that Kazuo Ishiguro is honored as a world class writer for his winning of the Nobel Prize in Literature,conspicuous Japanese flavor could be perceived from his An Artist of the Floating World. That the characters of this book insist on traditional justice views and old-fashioned ethics and their selective amnesia towards history conveys such kind of information. This book shows the struggle and dilemma faced by Japan when it met with ＂west＂represented by American culture.
