摘要
选取《红楼梦》的3个英译本为研究对象,从中医基本原理、疾病与证候、方剂、养生文化、医俗等方面举例讨论3个英译本,发现3个版本各具特色,对中医药文化的翻译各有所长,但由于译者的文化背景不同及对中医药理解程度有限,在翻译中也存在诸多文化误读。通过分析3个英译本对中医药文化翻译的得失,探讨了中医药文化翻译的策略与方法。
Hongloumeng is not only known for its literary value, but also rich in culture of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）. This paper selected three classical English versions of the novel and discussed the translations from the aspects of the basic theory of TCM, diseases and symptoms, prescription, health preservation and customs, finding that each has its own merits and misunderstandings in TCM culture translation because of the translators＂ cultural background and limited knowledge of TCM. Through the analysis of the gains as well as losses of the three English versions, this paper also explored effective strategies and methods for dealing with cultural problems in TCM translation.
