Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 630~650 nm visible light on treatments of burn wound. Methods A total of forty-four patients with 78 burn or trauma wounds were selected for clinical study in Shanghai No.3 people's hospital from December 2013 to Decem-ber 2014, and the wounds were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. In the experimental group( n=40), the wounds were treated by630~650 nm visible light once per day for 21 days.In the control group(n=38),the wounds were treated 1% silver sulfadiazine cream dressing once per day for 21 days. The wound healing rate and inflammatory response were daily observed with camera and calculated using Image. The safety issues int-wo groups were evaluated as well. Results The wound healing rate was significantly increased in the experimental group comparing with that in the control group, the redness and pain in the wounds in the experimental group were significantly lower than that in the control group. Conclusion The results from clinical observations suggest that application of 630 ~650 nm visible light can relieve the pain, attenuate inflammatory response and enhance healing rate of wounds.
