摘要
研究赛珍珠与《亚洲》的关系,既可以为期刊发展提供可资借鉴的范例,更可以为深入开展赛珍珠研究提供基础性资料,具有史料价值。对此,运用考证的研究方法,采取搜集、梳理、比较、鉴别等措施,统计分析后得出结论:赛珍珠在期刊定位、稿源组织、特色栏目设置诸方面精心经营《亚洲》,打造了一扇向西方展示东方的窗口;她身体力行在《亚洲》发表了至少127篇文章,成为沟通中美文化的媒介和桥梁。赛珍珠对《亚洲》的经营举措,展现出强烈的亚洲意识与广博的亚洲视野;她在《亚洲》发表的文章,涵括了极为多样化的亚洲元素。她对加强东西方文化的交流殚精竭虑,为不同文化的族群在今天多元化、国际化时代的相互了解提供了有益的启示和借鉴。
A research on Pearl S. Buck＇s relationship with Asia is of historical value hecause it not only provides examples of reference for journal development, but also gives access to basic data and materials for in-depth Pearl S. Buck research. Therefore, the present study adopts textual and statis- tical methods, in combination with measures as collection, classification, comparison and contrast, i- dentification, etc. , and comes to the conclusion after making statistical analysis that Pearl S. Buck opened an oriental window to the occident by running Asia through journal positioning, calling for contribution and establishment of feature columns, etc. Pearl S. Buck herself contributed 127 articles to the magazine and became a media and bridge of communication between China and USA. These ar- ticles of hers displayed strong Asian consciousness and broad Asian vision. She left no stone unturned to strengthen the oriental and occidental cultural exchanges and provided beneficial inspiration and re- ference for the mutual understanding of ethnic groups with different cultures in the present diverse and international era.
