In order to explore the relationship among cyberostrcism, social exclusion, self-control and depression, we chose 1077 college students as our subjects. The subjects were investigated with such instruments as Cyberostrcism Questionnaire for college students, Social Exclusion Questionnaire, Self-Control scale and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) . The results indicated that: 1) there were no significant differences in the frequency of social exclusion and cyberostracism. 2) Social exclusion, cyberostracism, self-control and depression were significantly positively corre- lated with each other. Social exclusion not only had direct negative effect on depression, but also could significantly predict self-control; Cyberostracism also could significantly predict self-control and depression. 3) Social exclusion not only had direct negative effect on depression, but also could affect adolescents' depression through the mediating role of self-control. But for the cyberostracism, self-control became a full mediator between cyberostracism and depression. This showed that there was a difference between the mechanism of cyberostracism and social exclusion on depression.
