As a key term in the post-modern criticism, intertextuality puts literariness into focus from the perspec- tive of the relationship between a text and its pretext. Surveyed from a general view, Mrs. Dalloway and Cymbeline can be treated as intertexts because of the former's repetition of the latter in employment and characterization. Surveyed from a more detailed view, by adopting the intertextual strategies of Kenosis, heterogeneous dialogue and parody, Mrs. Dalloway restores female subjectivity and deconstructs the heroic paradigm in Cymbeline.
