摘要
皮尔斯对索绪尔式符号定义的突破,在于引入了符号的第三位——解释项。它是指符号再现体在符号接受者心中所创造的某种东西,被皮尔斯称为符号的"涵义"或符号的"意指效力"。本文基于皮尔斯关于解释项的定义,探讨符号与主体示意的关联,认为:符号之于主体的效力,在于自我的拓展与延伸,从而向先前未知的领域推进。解释项的定义决定了,使用符号示意必定是无限衍义的过程;意义的无限衍生,是因为符号总反映了主体所不是的那部分,主体必定是朝向真相不断奋进的那个谦卑的主体。
The key to C.S.Perice's definition of sign lies in the interpretant, which sets Pericean Semiotics apart from Saussurean sign. It refers to something created by the sign vehicle in the receriver's mind, and thus has been termed as sign's sinification or the effect of signification. This paper, based on the definition of sign as proposed by Perice, tries to explore the relationship between sign and the signifying subbject, taking the position that the effect of sign to the subject indicates the extension of the self into unkowable dimensions. The effectual interpretant explains that the subject is an infinite semiosis of signification, during which, the image of a humble self is what we are supposed to be.
