摘要
从雅异的视角分析《红楼梦》英译,不仅有助于译者在英译活动中增强雅异修辞意识,同时为翻译效果的评判提供了新的依据。《红楼梦》的翻译修辞研究多集中在积极修辞上,消极修辞这一角度的研究微乎其微。雅异是英语表达的显著特点,作为一种消极修辞手段,广泛运用于文学作品中。《红楼梦》杨译本第三回在措辞和句式层面上多处运用了雅异,使译文取得了交际与审美的修辞效果。
The analysis of the English translation of A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of ele-gant variation not only contributes to helping translators strengthen the sense of elegant variation ,but also provides a new basis for the judge of translation effect .At present ,the rhetoric studies on translations of A Dream of Red Mansions focus on active rhetoric , but rarely involve passive rhetoric .Elegant variation mainly reflects English prominent features and widely apply to literary works as one of the passive rhetoric techniques .Elegant variation in diction and sentence structures is frequently applied in the third chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions of Yang′s version ,which makes the version reach the double rhetorical effects of communication and aesthetics .
