In recent years, acupuncture is gradually accepted by western world for its significant effect. However, the mechanism of acupuncture is still not clear, which restricted its internationalization. Modern medical imaging technologies,e. g.,MRI,provide new tools for us to explore the mechanism of acupuncture. Recent acupuncture studies using medical imaging mainly focused on the sustained effect, specificity and targeted treatment of acupuncture. Especially, the newly proposed temporospatial brain network provided a new way to explore the potential mechanism of action for acupuncture.
