Finite Element Simulation of Cutting Force Using Cubic Boron Nitride Cutting Tools in Dry Hard Turning Conditions

摘要 对立方氮化硼(CBN)刀具干式硬车冷作模具钢Cr12MoV切削过程进行了有限元仿真研究。运用Johnson-Cook(J-C)模型和J-C切屑分离准则建立了物理仿真模型,利用Deform-3D软件模拟了切屑从局部剪切失稳到断裂的过程,得到了不同切削用量三要素组合下的切削力数值。分析了切削速度、进给量、切削深度对切削力的影响,建立了单一因素对切削力影响的经验公式。结果表明:切削深度对切削力的影响最大,其次是进给量,切削速度的影响最小。 In this paper,finite element simulation was conducted on dry hard turning of cold work die steel Cr12 Mo V using cubic boron nitride( CBN) cutting tools. The physical simulation model was established by applying Johnson-Cook( J-C) model and J-C chip separation principle. Deform-3D was used to simulate the process from local shear instability to fracture of workpiece material. Cutting force data were obtained under different combination of cutting regimes. The influence of cutting speed,feed rate,and depth of cut on cutting force was analyzed,and empirical formulas reflecting the effect of single cutting parameter on cutting force were found. Results show that the most significant influencing parameter on cutting force is depth of cut followed by feed rate,and cutting speed had a minor influence on cutting force.
