摘要
"爆表"是近年来非常流行的网络用语,用来表达程度之高,在句中通常作谓语,也可作定语和补语。其意义由最初的仪表爆炸、超出仪表限度义发展到程度极高义,这同时也是个词汇化的过程。这一过程是在认知隐喻机制的作用下完成的,而语义上的关联性是其演变的基础,同时人们标新立异的心理需求是促发"爆表"语义演变的重要外部因素。"爆表"表达程度极高,把抽象的程度数值化、具体化,极具新鲜感和画面感,因此颇受年轻人的欢迎。
＂Baobiao＂is a new online buzz phrase,and it is often used as a predicate（ sometimes also as a modifier or adjunct）expressing the highest degree. It literally means that the measuring instrument exploded because what was measured went well beyond the upper limit of the instrument,and it undergoes a process of lexicalization. This process works under the metaphoric mechanism,is based on the semantic relevance,and is externally conditioned by language users＇ drive for novel expressions. This phrase makes the abstract concept of degree measurable and concretized and achieves the rhetorical effect of vividness and freshness,and thus becomes very popular among the youngsters.
