摘要
调查了英语专业学生在英语阅读学习与训练中运用了哪些策略处理遇到的词汇问题。通过分析问卷我们发现英语学习者通常使用猜测、帮助(查字典、询问)及忽略策略解决阅读中遇到的词汇障碍,其中猜测策略是最常用的策略,而忽略和询问则最不常用。我们发现不同英语程度学习者在词汇处理策略使用上存在巨大差异。总体而言,高水平学习者更频繁运用猜测策略而低水平学习者更青睐帮助策略。
This thesis tries to explore how Chinese English majors deal with unknown words in reading in English. Through analyzing subjects’ data,we have made the following findings:( 1) Learners often attempt to employ guessing,assisting( looking-up a dictionary,asking) and ignoring strategies to cope with the vocabulary problem in English reading. Guessing is the first and most frequent strategy they use,and ignoring and asking are their last resorts.( 2) Learners with different English proficiency perform great differently in using the word-solving strategies. In general,high proficient learners choose guessing strategy most frequently whereas low proficient learners prefer assisting.
