摘要
农村中小学教师教学能力的提升已成为当前教育改革和教师教育面临的重要问题。通过对商洛市农村中学英语教师的问卷调查发现,教师的教学能力在一定程度上能满足英语新课程的需要,但受学生高考升学的需要和影响,以考试成绩为主的传统教学评价方式并没有改变,这也影响了教师教学实施能力的发挥。师范专业背景、英语专业背景、学历和教龄跟教师的教学能力分别存在不同程度的相关,尤其是教师的师范专业背景和英语专业背景与教师的多项教学能力存在显著相关。因此,必须改革目前的中学英语教学评价体系,加强在职英语教师的继续教育学习,提高教师的教育理论修养和专业素养,才能进一步提升教师的教学能力。
The development of the teaching ability of the middle school English teachers has become a critical issue in China's curriculum reform . A survey has been done to discover whether the middle school English teachers are competent in implementing the New Curriculum in Shangluo , a city in Shaanxi Province . The finding of the research is somewhat satisfactory . The teachers can , to some extent , handle the new teaching in their classroom . However , the traditional evaluation system may be the biggest obstacle as the students are evalued on the testing scores . Thus , the teachers as well as their students feel very bored and tired in English learning and teaching . The statistical analysis indicates that there is a bibariate correlation between teachers' academic qualification , seniority , professional or English major background and their teaching ability , especially teachers' professional and English major background . All these may imply that it is quite necessary to reform the summative evaluation system of English learning and teaching , particularly the cwollege entrance examination system . Furthermore , teachers should continue their study on pedagogy and improve their language proficiency to improve their teaching ability .
