摘要
南非作家库切的《等待野蛮人》,以第一人称讲述了一段某帝国对某游牧部落野蛮侵略的殖民历史,带有明显的后现代文学的不确定性特征,通过断裂的情节和无序的拼贴反映出了人物内心的纠结与挣扎。同时,小说中人物身份的不确定及不确定叙事的运用,允许读者对文本隐含意义进行解码,加深了读者对于文本的体验,揭示了后现代社会人类无序、矛盾、虚幻、分裂、随意和充满不确定性的真实生活状态。
Waiting for the Barbarians is written by J M. Coetzee,a South African writer. It tells about the colonial history of an empire invading a horde in the first narrative participant with obvious postmiodernist indetermaincy features. It reflects characters＇ entanglements and flounders by the broken plots and disordered collages. The indetermincy in charatcters＇ identity and narration allow readers to decode the implied meaning in the text,which deepens readers＇ experience of the text. In addition,the use of indeterminacy shows the disordered,contradictory,illusory,split,arbitrary and indeterminate living conditions of humans in postmodern society.
