摘要
简述了英文科技论文的特点尤其是英文地震科技论文的独特性。以英文地震科技论文的独特性为基础,从用词风格的解读与诠释、专业地震词汇的识别与表述、繁杂的符号、公式、图表的处理以及长句、结构复杂句的阐明四个方面对其汉语翻译的技巧进行了探讨。
Features of English scientific papers, especially of those concerning seismology, are briefly stated. Skills for English - Chinese translation of seismic scientific papers are discussed from four aspects as ： reading and interpretation of word - choosing styles, identification and expression of earthquake vocabulary, treatment of symbols, formulas and charts and illustration of long and/or complex sentences.
