This paper first reviews and discusses the ideological research in the international translation studies since the beginning of the 21st century, with an emphasis on explorations of the two missing aspects of Lefevere's Rewriting theory. It analyzes important concepts in the relevant research such as "re-contextualization", "intervention", "activism ", "censorship" ,"field" ,"capital", "habitus", etc., and points out that the current research turns from abstract ideological discussions to a more practical trend of reforming reality; the increasing complex translation reality has constantly changed people's translation experience as well as innovated the ideas about translation. Based on the analysis, the paper reflects on the current domestic ideological translation studies. It emphasizes a coexistence of textual factors and cultural factors in the translation practice and argues that the marginalization of culture-oriented research may cut apart the panorama of translation and is thus not conductive to translation studies.
