摘要
提出的是一种简单而有效的静态图像压缩算法 ,它根据图像经小波 (wavelet)分解后系数的特点和人眼视觉特性 (HVS)对 Shapiro的 EZW算法进行改进 .改进后的算法所生成的比特流中的比特是根据 HVS重要性排序的 ,所需要的排序信息根据最低频带的系数计算得到 ,最低频带进行无失真编码 ,因而该算法不需要额外的信息 。
A simple, yet effective still image compression algorithm is described in this paper. According to the characteristic of coefficients in higher subbands and human visual system(HVS), an attempt is made to improve Shapiro's EZW algorithm. The improved algorithm has the property that the bits in the bit stream are generated in the order of HVS importance. Information for sorting is calculated by using coefficients of lowest frequency band which are coded losslessly. Therefore, in the proposed method, no extra information to specify the scan order for higher frequency band is needed. So, this algorithm supports fully multirate image decoding.
