摘要
简要总结了美国风景园林百余年,特别是20世纪50年代至今,科研的发展和近期动态。为了让中国学者更好的理解风景园林学科的科研发展规律,补充介绍了科研议题变迁背后的美国社会经济和文化历史动因。并根据收集的一手数据,对当前美国的科研进展和在规划设计实践中的应用予以部分介绍。在历史综述和数据调查的基础上,进一步对美国风景园林科研的发展规律和经验教训进行了简要总结,并对中国风景园林学科的科研发展提出了建议。
This paper provided a brief summary of research progress and knowledge advancement in landscape architecture in United States from the beginning of this profession, especially after 1950s. The summary, as primarily addressed to a Chinese audience, was interweaved with social-economic and cultural interpretations of contemporary American history. The summary was triangulated with two empirical surveys that examined current academic research engagement of American educators in landscape architecture, and the application of these research findings in practice. Suggestions for Chinese academic research in landscape architecture were given in the end, based on the summary and two empirical surveys.
