Many domestic Han-Dynasty stone relief works or stone carving paintings that have been unearthed so far are rich in contents portraying jade rabbits on the moon, of which some rabbits are seen pounding in a mortar and pestle and some others scampering towards something. No matter which kind of image delineated on the moon, the jade rabbits can be interpreted as narrating stories relating to human life. Though mythological in nature, these sto- ries are not merely concocted by human beings without foundation, but rather they serve as a mirror of the demands and desires of human being towards something worth craving after. In this sense, rabbit affairs are nothing more than human affairs.
