摘要
本文在对中国普通本科院校ESP教学及发展总结的基础上,将ESP的目的分类与普通本科院校人才培养目标相结合,从与基础英语教学相结合、衔接基础英语与双语教学和继承与创新三个方面提出ESP教学设计的基本原则,并据此三种原则对ESP课程教学进行了设计:在时间上将ESP课程设定在本科二年级开设;在课程性质上定位为衔接基础英语与双语教学;目标设计以需求分析为基础;教学内容以学习者使用目的为基础但强调专业差异性;教学模式的设计根据技能的需求不同设定有任务型教学模式和自主学习型教学模式。最后,讨论ESP教学实践中师资和教材两个突出问题。
Basing on the summary of ESP( English for special purposes) teaching and development in China' s general undergraduate universities, and combining the ESP branches and talent training objectives of these universities, this article proposes three basic principles for the design of ESP teaching from the aspects of unifying EGP (English for general purposes), bridging EGP and bilingual teaching, and inheritance and innovation. According to these principles, it makes the following designs for ESP teaching: ESP courses should be offered in the second grade ; the nature of the courses is bridging EGP and bilingual teaching; the design of teaching objectives is based on needs analysis; the teaching content should take into consideration both the using purposes and the major differences; and there are two kinds of teaching models, task-based teaching model and autonomous learning teaching model. At last, it discusses two major issues in ESP teaching practice, the development of ESP teachers and ESP teaching materials.
