摘要
明代是海南文化发展的重要时期,主要表现有十:一是各类学校多;二是科举考试中式人数多;三是"鼎臣继出,名满神州";四是两位海南人分别掌管明代全国两所最高学府;五是九位海南人入选《明史》;六是各种著作多;七是俗尚礼文和读书风气浓;八是许多家庭妇女都有文化,并出现冯银等五位女诗人;九是各种楼亭、坊表和名胜古迹及名人墓葬多;十是海南岛被称为"海滨邹鲁"或"海外邹鲁"。明代海南文化之所以获得高度发展,主要原因有九,其中最重要的,当是明王朝对本岛的高度重视和支持。
The Ming Dynasty is an important period of cultural development in Hainan, as is manliest in ten aspects： firstly, the establishment of numerous schools; secondly, an increase in the number of successful students in the imperial competitive examinations; thirdly, the emergence of ＂renowned ministers and the spread of their fame far and near＂ ; fourthly, two natives of Hainan respectively in charge of two highest institutions of learning in the Ming Dynasty; fifthly, the inclusion of nine natives of Hainan in A History of the Ming Dynasty; sixthly, the publication of numerous works of various kinds; seventhly, a veneration for prevailing customs, ceremonies and propriety as well as for learning; eighthly, the occurrence of numerous literate housewives and of five poetesses like Feng Yin, etc. ; ninthly, the rise of various pavillions, places of cultural and historical interest, and of tombs of numerous celebrities; tenthly, the acclaim of Hainan Island as a ＂ seaside land of cultural prosperity＂. There are nine reasosn for the great development of Hainan culture in the Ming Dynasty, the most important of which being the great attention to and support for Hainan Island by the Ming imperial government
