心理类型在中国学生英语习语理解中的作用 被引量:13

Effects of psychotypology on Chinese learners' comprehension of English idioms

摘要 心理类型这一概念在语言迁移研究领域具有重要的理论意义,然而其适用性仍有待进一步证明和拓展。本研究从中国英语学习者的习语理解入手,探讨学习者的心理类型和习语理解特征及英语水平之间的关系。结果发现,学习者对中英文习语表达的感知距离与他们对习语含义的猜测、理解和迁移都存在显著正相关关系,并表现出比实际语言距离更重要的作用;不同英语水平的学习者对英语习语的感知距离并不相同,英语水平较低的学习者在理解英语习语时更依赖其感知相似性和母语迁移。 The concept of psychotypology has theoretical implications for language transfer studies,but its applicability needs to be further tested and expanded.By investigating learners' comprehension process of English idioms,this study explores the relationship among learners' characteristics of idiom comprehension,English proficiency and psychotypology.The results reveal that learners' psychotypology has significant positive correlations with their guessing,and understanding of the meanings of idioms and transfer behaviors.Learners' perceived language distance plays a more important role than the objective linguistic distance in the idiom comprehension process.Learners of different English proficiency levels perceive the distances of idioms differently,and learners with lower proficiency rely more on their perceived similarityand L1 transfer.
