Two methods to manufacture artificial leather using leather release paper and steel strip were described and compared. According to the latest information from market, the market condition and manufacturers of leather release paper were summerizcd. Experiments and analysis of different types of leather release paper from different manufacturers were done and patents and literatures were reviewed. According to the differences of its manufacturing process, leather release paper was classified in detail.
