The article introduces a new teaching format of college physics, studio physics, which is successfully adopted in many US universities including MIT and Harvard University. In studio physics class, theoretical and experimental teaching are integrated. Evaluating shows that it not only intrigues students to explore actively, but improves the student ability of commanding basic concepts. For its success, studio teaching has been widely extended to many other courses such as chemistry and engineering program.
