摘要
论文运用定性与定量方法,考察社会科学论文中模糊限制语的人际意义。论文指出,社科论文中,作者导向模糊限制语可以帮助作者维护自身面子,评价命题内容及说服读者;读者导向模糊限制语则体现对读者的尊重,显示礼貌和实现语篇多声性等特点。对四类学科简介和讨论部分中10个常用模糊限制语定量分析表明,讨论部分模糊限制语的使用频率略高于简介部分。四种学科在模糊限制语的使用上差异不明显,教育类论文中模糊限制语的使用频率略高于其他三类学科论文。
This paper investigates the interpersonal meaning of hedges in social science research papers through qualitative and quantitative approaches. Writer-oriented hedges can help the writer to protect his face, persuade the reader to accept his argument and evaluate the proposition in the paper, while reader-oriented hedges show the writer' s respect to the potential readers and represent a way of politeness and muhiglossia in the paper. The quantitative analysis of 10 frequently-used hedges in the Introduction and Discussion sections of social science papers in four disciplines reflects that hedges in Discussion are more densely used that in Introduction. The hedges in four disciplines are nearly equally distributed with slightly high percentage in the Educational papers.
