摘要
元语言研究的重要性近年来正日益得到国内外学者的关注,很可能将成为今后的一个重要研究课题。结合元语言相关理论,抽取英语本科专业学生的毕业论文作为语料进行研究,并设计若干访谈问题加以分析,认为本科学生的元语言意识确实比较薄弱。在语言教学中有必要加强培养学生元语言意识,同时在课程设置上应切实做到"回归学科本质,突出专业特色",充分提升学生的思辨能力与理论素养。
There has been an increasing concern among scholars on metalinguistic study in recent years both at home and abroad and the growing enthusiasm will probably result in a hot discussion over the topic. This paper is a research over the metalinguistic awareness of the undergraduates of English majors. Our analysis is based on the graduation theses the author collected from the undergraduates of English majors and the results of th~ interviews with the student＇ s. Under the guidance of metalinguistic theories, we argue that the metalinguistic awareness of English majors is weak. Finally, it is pointed out that there is an urgent need to strengthen the students＇metalinguistic awareness and that, in the process of curriculum designing, we should take into consideration the increasing appeal of ＂refocusing on the essence of the discipline and strengthe- ning specialty features＂ so as to promote the capability of analytical thinking of the undergraduates and enhance their theoretical attainments.
