摘要
《三字经》乃中国蒙学要籍,版本繁多,除明清注释本、增补本及近代辑刊本,晚清西方基督新教传教士、汉学家来华时亦曾留下多种可观的西译本及中文《三字经》仿作本,既能反映当年汉学家翻译中国典籍的热忱,亦可从其所依据版本,反映当时流行的蒙学《三字经》读本。文章就香港图书馆所得见的四种英译本,及传教士麦都思(Walter Henry Medhurst,1796-1857)模仿《三字经》三言韵语而撰写基督教教义的耶教仿本,概述其翻译缘起、所据版本、翻译格式及仿本版式,而其中麦都思仿本《解元三字经》作者伪托"欧适子",耐人寻味,值得探究。
Through the introduction to four English translations and a few imitations available in Hong Kong libraries, this paper explores what Chinese editions of the San Zi Jiag the translations and imitations were based on. The fact that one religious imitative work, the ＂Jie Yuan San Zi Jing＂ written by Walter Henry Medhurst （1796- 1857）, put its author as Ou Shizi is of particular significance in this course of study.
