摘要
翻译事业在不同的历史时期担负着不同的社会使命。20世纪前后中国社会处于转型期,翻译的使命在于输入西方先进的治国方略、经济思想、哲学理论,以便从意识形态上改变中国,从而促使国人改变落后挨打的局面。为此,严复以食人主义的姿态,以"达旨"为策略,舍信译取写译,达到了思想启蒙的目的。
The enterprise of translation has assumed different missions in different historical periods. At the turn of the 20th century, a critical period for Chinese nation＇ s survival, translation regarded as its mission the importation of advanced political, economic and philosophical theories from the West, with the purpose of transforming Chinese traditional ideology and improving the situation of lagging behind, Yan Fu, like a cannibal and with dazhi as his objective, produces writing translation rather than faithful one to achieve the purpose of enlightenment.
