摘要
作为特定条件下的历史产物,"中体西用"教育模式为近代中西学提供了一个会接点,对近代中国教育的变迁具有至关重要的影响,但该模式以"重用轻体"为典型特征,并因此蕴涵着自身无法调和的内在悖论,"中体西用"模式所强调的"中体"本身是"求用"的产物,也靠"用"来支撑,"中体"缺乏一种"体"的支撑。中国传统的"天人合一"的整体性思维方式是导致"中体西用"模式存在内在悖论的文化根据所在。
The educational mode of "Chinese Body and western Function", which is an outcome under specific historical conditions, has offered meeting points for modem Chinese learning and western learning. Nevertheless, this mode of "Chinese Body and Western Function" is characterized by its preference for "values usefulness above thing - in - itself", which implies a inherent paradox; in this mode, the thought of "taking Chinese as the body" is formed on the basis of "seeking usefulness" ; hence the "Chinese body", the supposed main central part of this model, is supported by its funtion instead of its noumenon. The traditional Chinese whole thinking mode of "nature and man as a whole" shows cultural facors which have resulted in the self- contradictory assertion in this mode.
