《蓝苴的眼睛》是一部以空间建构主题的黑人经典文学作品。托妮·莫瑞森也因为其在作品中展现出来的独特叙述方式以及对种族歧视主题的深刻探讨,成为1993年诺贝尔文学奖得主、美国黑人文学运动第三次高潮的杰出代表。该作品的中译文却由于在宏观结构、人名和表述上存在问题,导致了中国读者对这部小说的误读。
The Bluest Eye is characterized by its meticulous constructing in presenting the evil of racism. Due to her unique narrative mode and profound emphasis on the self-reflection of the black people in combating racism, Toni Morrison , the winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize in Literature, has been hailed as a representative of the third surge of the American black literature since 1970＇s. This paper examines failures in the Chinese version of this black literary canon——The Bluest Eye——from the aspects of macrostructure, character names, and meanings in the hope of bridging the distance between the Chinese readers and the artistic charm of the author.
