摘要
成语是语言的核心和精华,是文化的结晶,具有鲜明的民族特色。通过对英汉文化差异的比较和分析,可以总结出英语语言文化的共性和个性,并根据其特性探讨直译和意译等几种灵活的翻译方法,最终在忠于原作者和忠于读者之间找到最佳的平衡点。
Idioms are the core and the essenceof a language. They make up the crystal ot a culture and reflect different features of different nations. By comparing and analyzing the cultural differences between Chinese and English, this paper concludes that the flexible translation methods, such as direct translation and free translation, etc., may be adopted in accordance with the cultural commonness and individuality these two languages. Consequently, the best balsnce is expected to be found which can be faithful between the original author and the readers.
