摘要
LOCKSS(Lots of Copies Keeps Stuff Safe多备份资源保存)项目主要解决数字化信息,尤其是电子期刊的永久保存与利用问题。该项目创建了廉价并且连续的电子期刊"缓存",这些电子期刊内容在获得授权后可自动选择并保存在本地计算机上。LOCKSS项目本身也满足了图书馆与出版商对数字资源利用和保存的所各自承担的权利和义务。
LOCKSS （ Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe ） program is designed for libraries to preserve a permanent access to digital resources, especially web - published scientific journals. It creates low - cost persistent digital ＂caches＂of e -journal content which could be automatically chosen and stored in local computers after authorization. The program has also met a high degree of publisher and library engagement and commitment for digital resources.
