摘要
四字结构是汉语的精华,也是修辞的重要组成部分,其特点是言简意赅,节奏明快。本文探讨英汉翻译中四字结构的运用,如何在忠实于原文的基础上,把单词、词组、短语或习语适当地译成四字结构,使译文更为传神达意,风采倍增,使读者更容易理解原文的内涵。
Four-character structures are the cream of the Chinese language, and the important rhetoric approaches. It is characterized by compendiousness and lively rhythm. This paper focuses on the appropriate use of four-character structures in English-Chinese translation. On the basis of being faithful to the original, some English words, expressions, phrases or idioms can be properly translated into four-character structures, thus making Chinese version more vivid, expressive and graceful. And readers can more easily understand the connotations of the original.
