摘要
在2002年加入WTO前,台湾地区当局便已主动在金融领域采取自由化及国际化的措施,因此,进入WTO时,并未面临法规大松绑或调整的冲击,主要挑战是金融业自身竞争力的提升,以便有能力应对来自海外业者的竞争并进军国际市场。本文根据作者在“第12届两岸金融学术研讨会”上的发言稿整理。
Before entering into WTO in 2002, Taiwan Region had adopted the measures of liberalization and globalization in financial industry initiatively. Therefore, when it entered into in 2002, it didn't have to change the rules and laws to adapt to the WTO requirements. The major challenge comes from the competitive edge of financial industries and make them to be able to compete with overseas counterparts and do business in global market.
