摘要
本文主要从认知角度探讨了隐喻意义构建中的文化制约现象,同时涉及文化模式、认知图式和隐喻意义构建之间的关系。本文首先从认知角度阐述了对隐喻的研究,然后通过实验,讨论隐喻意义构建是一个受母语文化制约的认知过程,这个过程涉及各种图式和想象等认知工具。本研究表明:隐喻是一种文化和认知二位一体的现象,认知的框架是文化,文化的传承靠认知;二语隐喻的意义构建中存在着文化制约现象,从而为二语隐喻教学提供了有益的启发。
The paper, from the view of cognition, investigates the culture influence on the meaning constructions of metaphor, which involves the relation among the cultural framework, the cognitive scheme and the correct understanding of metaphor. Based on an experiment, which treats the process of comprehension of idioms as that of the construction of metaphor, a tentative conceptual framework proposes that the meaning construction of metaphor is, in essence, a cognitive process governed and constrained by L1 cultural model. In conclusion, metaphor is a cognitive phenomena as well as a cultural ones the correct meaning construction of metaphor is constrained by culture. Finally, implications for reaching and leaning of L2 conventional metaphorical language and for L2 lexical acquisition are suggested.
