缸中之脑假设是怀疑主义论证中最重要的假设,普特南对“缸中之脑假设是自我反驳的”论证被当作了一种反怀疑主义的策略。然而,无论是标准的缸中之脑假设,还是普特南式的缸中之脑假设都不是自我反驳的,普特南的论证是错误的,普特南式的怀疑主义解答是不成立的。
The supposition of brains-in-a-vat is the most important argument of skepticism. Putnam has showed “the supposition of brains-in-a-vat is self-refuting”, which can be taken as a strategy of anti-skepticism. However, neither the normal brain-in-a-vat nor the Putnamian brain-in-a-vat is self-refuting, so Putnam's arguments are wrong and Putnamian answering skepticism is unsuccessful.
