摘要
英语名词词义变化异常活跃 ,不少名词形象鲜明 ,语义生成能力强 ,在反映生活的过程中获得了转义。名词转义的生成方法有联想、类推、功能转用和修辞等。本文通过实例 ,分析了英语名词转义的几种主要生成方法 。
Nouns in English are very active. The meanings of some English nouns are sometimes transferred to refer to something which has nothing to do with the original meanings. This article is to discuss the ways of the meaning transference of English nouns. It points out that English nouns acquire the transferred meanings through association, analogy, function transference, figures of speech and so on. It will help English learners better memorize English words and at the same time have a full understanding of the English semantic culture.
