摘要
同母语词汇一样,学习者所习得的外语词汇也在大脑中呈网络状联结。中小型英汉双语词典中参见系统的缺失割裂了词汇之间的联系,不利于词典使用者习得词汇知识,提高词汇运用能力。从激活扩散的认知模型出发,在中小型英汉双语词典中应设立比较完善的参见系统,以充分利用认知体系中的激活网络,帮助学习者构建词汇语义知识。中小型英汉双语词典中设立参见系统完全可行,其具体形式应根据需要酌情设立。
Just like the vocabulary of one's mother tongue, the words of a foreign language acquired by learners are connected like a net in their minds as well. The absence of cross-reference structure in medium-sized and small-sized bilingual dictionaries cuts the natural relation between words, which is not helpful to dictionary-users' acquisition of lexical knowledge. Based on the cognitive model of spreading activation, comprehensive cross-reference should be set up in these dictionaries. By doing so, we can make full use of the spreading activation in the cognitive system of dictionary users, helping them acquire lexical knowledge and improve their language competence. This proposal is quite feasible. The content of the cross-reference structure in these dictionaries should be determined by specific needs.
