Constructing a well-off society in an all-round way means that China's social and economic development has already come into a brand new period and an important transition will take place in Chinese people's consumption structure. The transition will cause a double progressive increase in consumption proportion both on the necessary means of livelihood and on nonmaterial products. Consequently, it will create favorable conditions for the expansion and infiltration of recreation elements into all fields of the society, economy and culture of the country. In such a great epoch background, a series of new trends will come into being in the development of recreation. These new trends will gradually deepen and broaden their influences on Chinese people's social life. Therefore, we need to both keep a clear understanding and take appropriate measures to adapt ourselves to the coming global recreation period in the 21st century.
