From time to time. Islam has been adjusting itself in all respects. As theresult of its self-adjusting function being brought into full play, Islam could berenovated, completed and improved by and for itself and could deal with imp-ortant events inside and outside it. In the time of medernization pursued by Islamic states, it is relying on thesefunctions of self-adjustment-renovation-completion-improvement that Islam wasand is able to have the capacity of adaptability and plasticity, making itself tomove harmoniusly with the advancing life of society and maintain its high status and influence in the eyes of its followers. As such, we could say, in currentwaves of modernization, Islam is not weakened and abandoned, on the contrary,it has become firmer and stronger than ever. This phenomenon should not beneglected by those who would study any problems of politics, economy and cul-ture in Islamic world.
