摘要
意象是诗人在创作过程中运用语言来表现事物、行为、感情、思想、观念、心理状态以及感官或超感官的经验。中国古典诗歌中蕴涵着丰富的意象。关于古典汉诗的翻译主要围绕着形式与意义这一二元对立的现象来讨论,实际上诗歌翻译可以看成是对意象的一种恢复与再现过程。基于此,作者讨论了古典汉诗中几种常见的意象类型,可译性限度以及一些具体的策略。
Image, which abounds in Chinese classical poetry in various forms, refers to the use of language to represent objects, actions, feelings, thoughts, ideas, states of mind and any sensory or ex-sensory experience. Debates about the translation of Chinese classical poetry mainly revolve around the traditional dichotomy of form and sense, and consequently this poses problems, but in actual fact, the translation of poetry, to a large extent, can be viewed as the representation and resumption of the images of the original texts. Taking this as a starting point, the author discusses in this article the four most common types of images in Chinese classical poetry, the limit of their translatability and the relevant strategies.
