摘要
对语境差别的忽略 ,以至语境因素的缺失 ,是翻译实践中 ,特别是文献翻译中难以避免和普遍存在的问题。本文结合《论语》古今文本和汉译英文本 ,对这一问题进行了客观描述 ,并提出了语境补全的两个基本方法。对语境差别问题和文献翻译中的语境补全问题的尝试性讨论 ,是一个全新的翻译理论观点。
When dealing with some conversational texts, esp. those of the remote past, translators are often called for to supply the necessary contextual information which are usually not given in the original texts. The task of the present paper is to suggest some effective ways to the resolution of two problems: one is the negligence of the missing contextual elements in the original texts, the other is the failure to provide the translation with fairly adequate context. This discussion may be of help to translation work though a rather tentative one.
