摘要
动词是语言的灵魂,是句子中最重要的成分之一。无论是在中文还是在英文中,动词都发挥着极大的作用。对于中文来说,它具有极强的表现力,文章生动与否,全凭动词的运用,可以说动词是文章的灵魂。对于英文来说,它极大地拓展了英语的句法结构和表达方式。政府工作报告中的动词含量极高,因此,对于政府工作报告这类多动词文本的研究,探讨其动词英译的翻译策略十分有必要。本文从英汉差异角度入手,在翻译目的论的视域下,以2023年政府工作报告英译本为研究对象,探讨翻译目的论指导下其英译过程中强弱动词的翻译策略,旨在让国际社会了解一个真实的中国,发挥好该报告作为外宣文本的重要作用。
Verbs are the soul of a language and one of the most important components of a sentence. Verbs play a vital role in both Chinese and English. For Chinese, it has a strong expression, whether the article is vivid or not, depends on the use of verbs. Therefore, it can be said that the verb is the soul of the article. On the other hand, it greatly expands the syntactic structure and expression of English. The occurrence rate of verbs in the Government Work Report is very high, so it is necessary to explore verb translation strategies. Based on the perspective of differences between English and Chinese, this paper discusses the translation strategies of strong and weak verbs in the process of translating the 2023 Government Work Report into English from the perspective of Skopos theory, aiming to let the international community understand a real China and give full play to the important role of the report as a publicity text.
