功能对等视角下《老渡口》(节选)翻译实践报告

摘要 该报告是一篇文学类翻译实践报告,旨在探讨奈达功能对等理论对短篇小说汉译英的指导。本翻译实践报告的翻译材料节选自《老渡口》一书。笔者运用直译、意译、增译、减译等翻译方法以最自然贴切的语言传达源文本意义并再现源文本的风格。本翻译实践报告以功能对等理论为指导,从理解对等、风格对等两个角度对短篇小说汉译英方法进行了较为深入的探讨,旨在发掘功能对等理论对文学类文本翻译的指导作用。本文在词汇层面探讨了专有名词的翻译、词汇内涵意义的选择译法;在篇章层面,探讨了如何从连接和连贯出发做到篇章上的功能对等;在风格层面,主要探讨了如何做到文本风格上的功能对等。最终得出定论,短篇小说类文本,在功能对等的指导下,可在词、句、篇以及文体风格层面得到贴切自然又对等的翻译。 This report is a literary translation practice report, which aims to explore the guidance of Nida’s functional equivalence theory on the Chinese-to-English translation of short stories. The translation materials of this translation practice report are excerpted from the book The Old Ferry. The author uses direct translation, paraphrase, additive translation and subtractive translation to convey the meaning of the source text and reproduce the style of the source text in the most natural and ap-propriate language. Guided by the theory of functional equivalence, this translation practice report conducts a more in-depth discussion on the Chinese-to-English translation method of short stories from the perspectives of understanding equivalence and stylistic equivalence, aiming to explore the guiding effect of the theory of functional equivalence on the translation of literary texts. At the lexi-cal level, the paper discusses the translation of proper nouns and the choice of translation method for the connotative meaning of words;at the chapter level, it discusses how to achieve functional equivalence in a chapter from the perspective of connection and coherence;at the style level, it mainly discusses how to achieve functional equivalence in text style. The final conclusion is that short story texts can be translated in a natural and appropriate way in terms of words, sentences, chapters and stylistic aspects under the guidance of functional equivalence.
