摘要
在我国社会转型的关键时期,大学应当扮演什么样的角色,由此引发了对大学社会职能的探讨。立足于我国大学教育的实际,对当前有代表性的大学社会职能观进行分析,当今条件下的大学应当具有如下社会职能:大学应成为社会的先导,大学的经济、政治、文化功能是其主要表征;大学应担负起对社会的审视与批判功能;大学要为社会培养具有独立意识和强烈社会责任感的高素质人才。
China is undergoing a crucial period of social transformation,and this has led to an exploration of what role a university is expected to play.This paper gives a brief summary of the historical evolution of the university’s social role,a comparison and analysis of contemporary representative views on the university’s social role,works out the university’s social role under present circumstances:the university should act as the forerunner of the society,manifested by its economic,polit-ical and cultural functions,fulfil its inspective and critical function,and train high-quality personnel with independent aware-ness and a strong sense of social responsibility.
