摘要
认知观照下的翻译探讨是利用认知语言学的研究成果来审查原文对译者产生的心理活动及这种活动在翻译中的表现形式,还可以对照两类读者的心理活动以确定两种文本是否产生对等。据此,本文通过大量的实例分析得出:译者的认知因素在翻译中会有各种表现,两类不同认知原型的读者对包含同一文化内涵的两种语言会产生不同的反应,因此,对等不可能完全实现,翻译要参照两类读者的认知结构实现效果对等,从而给翻译活动和对等论提供更深层次的思考。
A cognitive approach to translation suggests that investigation can be done through the principles of cognitive linguistics into the translator's psychological state activated by ST and its mapping on TT, and comparison can be made of psychological state of ST reader and TT reader activated by their respective texts to confirm whether the two texts have achieved equivalence. Accordingly, the paper explores these aspects by citing quite a few examples and concludes that the translator's cognitive factors based on his previous experience will influence his translation one way or the other, and readers of two texts will respond differently to the same cultural connotation delivered by two languages, which means complete equivalence is never possible. Therefore a translator should model the way the ST author manipulates his readers' cognitive frames to create the same effect as the ST author does. An approach formulated this way is original as what is investigated is the psychological activity of three parties concerned instead of language alone.
