摘要
古代黍、稷的现代名称,辞书界至今未能定论。本文综合建国以来国内历史、考古、文字、农史、农学界的主要研究成果,对新版《辞海》、《辞源》中黍、稷不分或以黍为粟、为稷、为高粱,以稷为糜、为(禾祭)、为高粱等诸种说法提出质疑,对黍、稷的现代名称做出新的论证,认为黍即糜子,稷即谷子。
This paper, through studying some major researches in the field of history, archaeology, philology, agricultural history since the establishment of PRC, called the definitions of 'Shu' and 'Ji' in the new editions of Ci Yuan and Ci Hai into question, and put forward the idea that 'Shu' means 'Mi' (糜), and 'Ji' refers to millet.
