摘要
象似性是对任意性的挑战。象似性的根源是人们认识世界的体验性。人以自身的感觉器官直接感知客观世界 ,在与客观世界的互动中获得经验。这一过程乃是将客观世界范畴化、概念化的过程。语言作为人们认知世界的经验结构的表征形式 ,映照了这一过程 ,从而使语言活动与认知现象处于一种完全的相互印证的状态。汉字与其他语言事实及其演变便是佐证。象似性对英语写作和翻译有着重要的指导意义。
Iconicity, which derives from our body experience through which we cognize the nature,is the challenge to arbitrariness.We directly perceive the outside world with our bodies and sense organs and in the interaction with the outside world we structure experience,which is a process of categorization and conceptualization of the world. As the representation of the structured experience,language mirrors the process so that act of language wholly maps that of cognition.Chinese characters and the facts of other languages and their evolution are the evidence.And iconicity is of great guiding importance to English writing and translation.
