摘要 ' Tragic Joy' is one of the most profound and frustrating themes in Yeats’ later poems,while an accurate interpretation of the theme is the premise for the access to his philosophy and aesthetics.Based upon Nietzsche’s theory on tragedy,'Tragic Joy' can be interpreted as the consequences of both institutional joy and the joy resulted by the artistic transcendence.The study on the poems of 'Tragic Joy' essentially witnesses the intensity and maturity of Yeats as artist and mythmaker.
