摘要
蔡元培先生是我国近代史上一位杰出的教育家、伟大的爱国主义者。 他一生主要致力于教育改革和新文化运动,并长期担任教育和科学的 领导工作,是我国近代倡导并组织实施“美育”的先驱者。中日甲午战 争之后,古老的中华民族面临着亡国灭种的危险,这一切促使更多仁义 志士开始探索中国如何才能走上富强的道路。蔡元培先生的音乐教育 思想,代表了我国近代爱国主义知识分子的良好愿望,得到了当时新文 化知识分子的拥护和推崇,促进了音乐及教育的发展。为了彻底的改 变落后的国民素质,培养全面发展的人才,使我国成为世界之强国,蔡 元培先生提出了一系列开放和先进的教育方针,对教育事业的发展,作 出了不可估量的贡献。
Mr. Cai Yuanpei, an outstanding educationist and great patriot in Chinese modern history, devoted his life to education reform and New Culture Movement. He held the post of the leader of education and science during a long period and was one of the pioneers of advocating, organizing and practicing 'esthetic education' in Chinese modern times. After China-Japan Jiawu (1894) War, the ancient China faced the danger of national subjugation and genocide, which made more Chinese people with lofty ideals begin to seek the way of how China could become rich and strong. Mr. Cai Yuanpei's thought of musical education stood for the fine aspirations of Chinese modern patriotic intellectuals, so that it was supported by them and promoted the development of music and education. In order to change the backward national quality thoroughly and train all-round persons of ability to make China become a strong country in the world, Mr. Cai Yuanpei put forward some open and advanced education principles and made an inestimable contribution to Chinese educational cause.
